📏 Units – Manage Your Measurement Units #
1. Navigate to “Units” #
- Log in to your back-office.
- From the left-hand purple sidebar, click Products.
- Select Units from the drop-down list.
- The page shows an All your units table and a purple + Add button in the top-right.
2. Add a New Unit #
- Click the purple + Add button.
- In the pop-up, fill in:
- Name – Full name (e.g., “Kilogram”).
- Short Name – Abbreviation (e.g., “KG”).
- Allow Decimal – Choose
Yesif the unit can be fractional (e.g., 0.5 KG).
- Click Save. The unit will appear in the list.
3. Edit or Delete Existing Units #
- Edit a Unit
- Find the unit row in the table.
- Click the blue
Editbutton in the Action column. - Update the fields as needed and click Update.
- Delete a Unit
- Click the red
Deletebutton. - Confirm the prompt. (Deletion is blocked if the unit is already in use by products.)
- Click the red
4. Table Tools & Filters #
- Search: Use the search box (top-right) to locate a unit quickly.
- Show Entries: Adjust the Show x entries dropdown (top-left) to control pagination size.
- Export & Print: Buttons above the table let you:
Export to CSV,Excel, orPDFPrinta printer-friendly versionColumn visibility– show or hide columns
- Sort Columns: Click any header (e.g., Name, Allow Decimal) to sort ascending/descending.
- Pagination: Use Previous / Next or click page numbers at the bottom-right.
5. Troubleshooting #
| Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Can’t delete unit | Unit is assigned to one or more products. | Change those products to another unit first, then delete. |
| Decimal value not accepted in POS | “Allow Decimal” is set to No. |
Edit the unit and switch Allow Decimal to Yes. |
| Unit missing in product form | Unit is deactivated or deleted. | Re-add the unit or pick another active one. |
6. Best Practices #
- Keep unit names clear and consistent (e.g., use “Gram” not “grms”).
- Enable Allow Decimal for weight-based units (KG, Litre, etc.).
- Regularly export the list for backup via
Export to CSV.
