🍳 Recipe Module – Build & Cost Your Items #
1. Navigate to “Recipe” #
- Log in to your back-office.
- In the purple sidebar, click Manufacturing.
- The top tab strip shows Manufacturing / Recipe / Production / Settings / Report. Make sure Recipe is selected (purple background).
- You’ll see a recipe list table and a purple + Add button (top-right).
2. Add a New Recipe #
- Click + Add.
- In the pop-up / new page, choose the Finished Product you’re producing (e.g., “Mango Juice (3695)”).
- Select Category and Sub-category (auto-filled if product has them).
- Add ingredients:
- Click Add Ingredient.
- Pick a raw material SKU, set quantity & unit.
- Repeat for all components (sugar, cups, labels, etc.).
- Enable Calculate Cost to auto-sum raw-material cost.
- Press Save. The recipe now appears in the list.
The Price and Unit Price columns will show 0.00 until you click “Update product price”.
3. View, Edit, or Delete a Recipe #
- View – purple
Viewbutton opens a read-only list of ingredients. - Edit
- Click blue
Edit. - Add/remove ingredients or adjust quantities.
- Save to update cost calculation.
- Click blue
- Delete – red
Delete(blocked if recipe is used in Production records).
4. Update Finished Product Price #
- Select one or more recipes via the left checkboxes.
- Click the red Update product price button under the table.
- System sets the product’s Selling Price to match recipe cost (plus markup from Settings → Recipe Markup %, if configured).
🔎 Hover the i icon in the Price header to see markup logic.
5. Table Tools & Filters #
- Search: Top-right box filters by product name or SKU.
- Show Entries: Change pagination size.
- Export / Print: Buttons export recipe list to CSV, Excel, PDF, or open a print view.
- Column visibility: Hide Category, Unit Price, etc., as needed.
- Sort: Click any header to sort alphabetically or by cost.
6. Troubleshooting #
| Issue | Cause | Resolution |

| Ingredient not found | Raw item not created in Products. | Add the raw material in Products → Add Product first. |
| Price stays 0.00 | “Update product price” not clicked. | Select recipe rows and press the button; ensure markup settings are configured. |
| Cannot delete recipe | Linked to Production batches. | Delete batches or keep recipe and mark product inactive. |
7. Best Practices #
- Use precise ingredient SKUs and units (grams, ml) for accurate costing.
- Recalculate prices after supplier cost changes.
- Create separate recipes for size variants rather than adjusting quantities on the fly.
- Periodically export recipe list for food-cost analysis.
