5. Troubleshooting #
| Problem | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Save fails – SKU already exists | Forgot to change SKU/Barcode. | Enter a unique SKU or leave blank to auto-generate. |
| Duplicate button missing | User role lacks Product Create permission. | Ask Admin to grant permission under User Management ➜ Roles. |
| Wrong Selling Price | Inherited prices not updated. | Edit the duplicated product and adjust price fields. |
6. Best Practices #
- Duplicate for new flavours, sizes, or packaging that share most attributes.
- Rename clearly (e.g., “Burger – Beef” ➜ duplicate ➜ “Burger – Chicken”).
- Keep SKU logic consistent (e.g., append “-C” for the copy).
- After batch duplication, use filters to double-check tax, category, and price group assignments.
7. Done! 🎉 #
You can now duplicate products quickly to expand your catalogue while keeping data accurate. Happy cloning!
